Heat treatment plant management system

One-off jobs and serial parts are tracked in the same system. For serial work, every step of a part from receiving to shipment is on record. Each person enters only the data that belongs to their own job.

Quality runs in the same system. From defect reports and customer complaints to audits and 8D, every record reaches its owner as a task and is followed until it is closed.

Orders, planning and production tracking

Part requirements are entered in the serial part record, in the quote or at receiving for one-off jobs. The planner builds the furnace loads, and each part's route follows from its load.

Furnace and machine integration

The furnace operator scans the barcode and sends the recipe from the system to the furnace. Start, end and alarm data comes back in real time, and PLC data is archived in the system.

ERP integration

Customer and exchange rate data is taken from the ERP. Delivery notes, invoices and collections are transferred to the ERP automatically, so no document is entered twice.

Laboratory and quality control

The lab enters its measurements, and the system checks each result against the part requirements. A result out of spec opens a nonconformance report, and engineering decides on rework or scrap.

Defect reports, complaints, audits and 8D

Defect reports, customer complaints, audit findings and meeting decisions are assigned to their owners as tasks. Tasks are followed against their due dates and go to approval when completed, and 8D and corrective actions run in the same flow.

Maintenance, calibration and document control

Maintenance, calibration and periodic checks such as TUS and SAT are planned as tasks. Documents and work instructions are kept under revision control, and training records are kept in the same system.

Frequently asked questions

Does our current ERP change?

No. The system works with your current ERP and transfers delivery notes, invoices and collections to it.

How is furnace data collected?

It is read from the furnace's own database, from the files it produces or directly from the PLC. The connection method depends on the furnace make and model.

Who enters what on the shop floor?

Each person enters data according to their role. The furnace operator scans the barcode and sends the job to the furnace. Receiving staff enter the hardness requirement for one-off jobs, and for serial parts the delivery note and lot numbers the customer wants tracked. The lab enters measurement results. Engineering sets up serial part records, documents and task assignments, and makes the action decisions.
